This spectacularly entertaining 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle from Magnolia features the wildly imaginative illustration art of Turkish artist Serhat Filiz — a brick-walled city alley at night where every single resident is a cat, and every single cat has somewhere to be, something to play, someone to chase, or a motorcycle to ride. Bold, hilarious, and packed with more feline personality per square inch than any puzzle has a right to be.
Serhat Filiz's The Cats Street is a love letter to cats in all their chaotic, confident, utterly uncontainable glory — a warm amber-lit city alleyway at night where dozens of individually characterized cats go about their business with complete disregard for the laws of physics, social convention, or gravity. The scene is framed by two tall brick buildings whose fire escapes, balconies, windows, and lamppost perches are occupied by a cast of feline characters so varied and expressive that every single one deserves their own comic book.
In the sky above, the night's most ambitious cats are at work — an astronaut cat in full space suit floats weightlessly between the buildings, a superhero cat in a red cape swoops through the crescent moon, a goggled aviator cat pilots a red biplane, a bat-winged cat glides past, and a rocket streaks through the star-scattered deep blue sky. A ballerina cat in a pink tutu swings from a tightrope on the left, a masked bandit cat rappels down the building beside a Wanted poster, and a cat in a bubble ship peers out from an upper window on the right.
At street level and on the fire escapes, the Miaow Blues band is in full session — a guitar cat strums on the fire escape above a vintage rusted Citroën, an accordion cat plays in the street below, a piano cat hammers the keys beside the car, and the instrument cases are open and ready for donations. A motorcycle cat in a leather jacket and goggles revs through the alley, scattering a black cat mid-leap. A detective cat with a magnifying glass investigates something suspicious near the flower cart, a cowboy cat tips his hat on the left, a pirate cat with a tricorn hat swaggers on the right, and a painter cat works on a feline interpretation of the Vitruvian Man at an easel in the lower right corner. A raincoat cat stands grumpily in the lower right with a coffee mug, a reading cat sits in an armchair, and two ginger kittens dance joyfully in the street. Laundry hangs between the buildings, flower pots crowd every windowsill, and a CAT bookshop sign glows from the right building. This Magnolia jigsaw is pure, uncontainable cat energy from corner to corner.
