This Magnolia collection of four 260 piece jigsaw puzzles showcases the extraordinary range of Turkish artist Serhat Filiz, moving from warm domestic realism to cartoonish character comedy to musical whimsy to pure graphic art in four distinct, beautifully crafted scenes.
A luminous English country kitchen glows with morning light streaming through a large arched garden door, its floral curtains billowing gently. A breakfast table is set with croissants, toast, jam, and tea for two, a tabby cat naps beneath the chair, a golden retriever stands in the garden doorway, and a small puppy sleeps on the tiled floor. The cream-painted dresser holds blue-and-white china, botanical prints hang on the walls, and the entire scene radiates the warm, unhurried contentment of a perfect English morning.
A tall apartment building is sliced open to reveal six floors of simultaneously unfolding domestic life — a cross-section composition packed with humor and humanity. Each floor shows a different family or resident in the middle of their evening: a couple dancing on the rooftop, a family playing board games, a group watching television, a dinner party in progress, a woman in a bath, a child playing on the ground floor, and a jazz club and diner flanking the building's exterior. Every window and room has its own story, and the whole building buzzes with warmth and comic energy.
Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata sheet music becomes the canvas for a whimsical illustrated parade — dozens of tiny cartoon characters, animals, and fantastical creatures dance, march, play instruments, and cavort across the musical staves. A crescent moon, a grand piano, a rainbow, a pumpkin, fairies, pirates, owls, and an extraordinary cast of illustrated characters fill the space between the notes with joyful, anarchic life, turning one of classical music's most beloved compositions into the most entertaining score ever written.
A striking neo-cubist portrait commands the frame — a dark-haired woman in a boldly geometric patchwork dress holds a colorful parrot on one arm and a cat in the other, rendered in a flat, graphic style that draws on Picasso's cubism and folk art traditions. Deep blues, warm reds, golden yellows, and geometric patterns fill the background and clothing in a composition that is simultaneously bold, decorative, and quietly intimate.
