Picture a sparkling nighttime Eiffel Tower watching over a sweeping map filled with Parisian icons: the Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame's twin towers, the golden dome of the Panthéon, the windmill of the Moulin Rouge, and the domes of Sacré-Cœur rising above the rooftops. A chef presents a tray of pastries outside a bustling patisserie, a couple embraces beneath the glittering tower, and the Mona Lisa gazes out beside a rainy café scene complete with red umbrella. Add in a carousel, a Ferris wheel, an accordion player, a can-can dancer twirling in tricolor ruffles, croissants and baguettes galore, and even the fairy-tale spires of Disneyland Paris tucked into the corner, and every inch of this piece captures the romance, whimsy, and joie de vivre of the French capital, brought to life by artist Olga Skomorokhova.
