This Magnolia set of four 260 piece jigsaw puzzles showcases the dreamy, watercolor-influenced illustration style of Turkish artist Nihal Tecimen, whose fantastical architectural worlds exist somewhere between a beloved storybook and a waking dream.
This Nihal Tecimen puzzle set brings together four of her most enchanting architectural fantasy illustrations, each one a richly detailed, softly luminous scene that rewards patient, imaginative assembly.
Houses I Read is a horizontal panorama of the most wonderfully mismatched architectural fantasy imaginable — a row of tall, eccentric buildings of every conceivable style, color, and proportion crowd together on a floating platform above a softly lit turquoise sea. Each building has its own personality: a tower with a clock face, a striped awning shopfront, a round porthole window, a peaked witch-hat roof, a lighthouse element. Colorful balloons and hot air balloons drift above, a biplane circles past, bunting and birds string between the rooftops, and a crescent moon hangs in a deep teal starry sky. The entire composition has the quality of a city built from imagination alone — every building a chapter, every window a story waiting to be read.
From Sea to the Sky is a breathtaking vertical fantasy — a magnificent sailing ship has been transformed into a complete floating habitat, its hull and rigging converted into a stack of houses, platforms, a lighthouse, and living spaces that rise from the waterline into the night sky. Sails billow from the upper structures, a full moon glows at the upper left, dolphins leap in the turquoise sea below, a stingray glides in the deep water beneath the hull, and birds and stars fill the deep blue night above. The warm glow of lit windows against the cool night sky gives the entire scene a deeply romantic, adventurous quality.
The Tale of a Tree is a luminous, softly magical treehouse scene — a great gnarled tree rises from a moonlit clearing, its branches and trunk supporting an extraordinary collection of miniature houses, towers, staircases, platforms, and hanging structures at every level. A castle with orange-tiled roofs crowns the upper branches, a lighthouse and smaller dwellings occupy the middle levels, a hobbit-hole door sits at the base, and directional signs, a trampoline, an umbrella, and a telephone box are tucked among the roots and lower branches. A crescent moon and stars glow in the soft blue-green sky above, and the entire composition has the gentle, enchanted quality of a fairy tale told in architecture.
Free Ship is a bold, joyful celebration of a galleon in full sail — an elaborately decorated wooden ship cuts through deep blue ocean waves, its patterned hull and ornate wooden structure adorned with decorative details. The sails are a magnificent patchwork of patterns — red stars, geometric prints, stripes, and folk art motifs — and colorful balloons in polka dot and striped patterns float alongside the ship's flags and rigging. Birds wheel in a silvery-blue sky, and the whole scene radiates the exhilarating, free-spirited energy of a ship that goes exactly where it pleases.
