Picture Big Ben and the London Eye forming the letters of a bold LONDON title, opening onto a map packed with icons: Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace guarded by red-coated sentries, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the sleek glass curves of the Gherkin and the Shard. A classic red telephone box and double-decker bus sit near a raven perched atop the Tower, while a punk rocker strums a guitar in Camden and Paddington Bear wanders past with his signature red hat. Add a steaming plate of full English breakfast, a foamy pint, a rainy commuter with an umbrella, swans gliding along the Thames, a carousel, and even a corner of the zoo with a polar bear and penguin, and every inch of this piece captures the wit, history, and charm of London, brought to life by artist Olga Skomorokhova.
